James Island Christian Church…

…partnering to change the lives of the
Macias Family!
Macias family

The Macias Family looks forward to the day they can leave behind their leaky, cold and damaged trailer. Their Habitat home will be constructed of all new materials, have heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer…something this family lives without.

Bettering their lives and the lives of their children is important to Jose and Maria. Their oldest daughter and son, Carmen and Luis, attend Charleston Collegiate School on scholarship, their next child, Paola, attends the Nativity School on scholarship and their youngest child, Daniela, is five years old and stays home with her mom.

This family of six has been working hard towards their Sea Island Habitat home. Each partner family is required to complete 500 hours of ‘sweat equity,’ or volunteer time. The Macias’ have already completed 300 of these hours!
